MEIZU MX4 PRO HANDS ON
Of course we got some precious time with the Meizu MX4 Pro. Just its little brother, the MX4, it is one beautiful smartphone. It resembles a lot like the old Apple iPhone 3Gs by just simply looking at it front and back. Although made of aircraft grade aluminum body, to our surprise, it feels very light and enjoyable to hold.
During the launch, Novo7 Tech Executive Adrian Lim gave a free demo on the phone’s key features. Both the 20.7 rear Sony camera and 5 megapixel front OmniVision camera worked very fine. Photos were very detailed, sharp and vivid. He also showed how strong the aircraft grade aluminum chassis of the MX4 Pro by trying to bend it with his strong grip.
The display was jaw dropping gorgeous. It sports a 5.5-inch Quad HD IPS display with a resolution of 1536 x 2560. Viewing angles are great but since we were inside Gateway Mall, we were not able to see its display under direct sunlight. Perfomance is also superb with no lags or stutter during our time with the unit. We were able to download the Antutu app and got a score of 45,784.
As for the battery life, it has a big 3,350 mAh battery which Novo7 Tech claims it would last you a day and half if you use the phone for just calling and texting. But if you are a heavy user like LTE on all the time, play games, surf the internet, watch You Tube videos, Novo7 Tech said it lasted 10 hours which is not bad at all.
Overall, it is a smartphone that deserves to be on your watch list if ever you are looking for a large smartphone. Specs and performance is at par with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with almost half the price. If we’re not mistaken, the Note 4 costs around P37,000 if you are going to buy on a Samsung store. The MX4 Pro costs only P20,990 so for us, it is indeed a bang for the buck.
