We all love to take selfies or groupfies. But with a limited budget, there are quite few smartphones with good front facing cameras at an affordable price. Most of them are priced above 5k. Good thing Starmobile came up with the Starmobile Up Lite. For only P4,890, you’ll get a 2 megapixel front facing camera with Back Side Illumination and front facing flash. We have a review unit here. But first, let’s take it out of the box and we’ll give our first impressions.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:

The Starmobile Up Lite takes the design of the Starmobile Up+ with its rounded corners. It is very comfortable to hold with one hand thanks to its smaller 4.5-inch screen. The back panel is a soft matte plastic which is comfortable to touch but a bit slippery. Good thing it does not attract fingerprints. We love those machine drilled speakers at the bottom and that metal band surrounding the phone makes it premium-looking.

The display is decent with good viewing angles. The phone is generally smooth and no lags were encountered during our first few hours with it. Starmobile has stacked up some gesture features and some apps of their own like Starmobile Sync, Dr, Safety and its own app store.

So far we are quite impressed with its overall build quality and size. We will be taking this for a spin to test its performance, battery, gaming, and its dual cameras. Full review coming in a week! 🙂
