Our low end smartphone market is already congested with so many smartphones but one might stand out in the crowd. Starmobile has recently announced the ViDa, a smartphone with a small 3.5-inch screen and a dual core processor. But what’s stand out is it is running Android 4.4 Kitkat and it is 3G capable. We have a unit here to review so here’s our first impressions with it.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:

Don’t set your standards so high because this is just a low end handset. What we admire about Starmobile is even in a low end smartphone, build quality is still excellent. Good thing the company choose to put a matte finish on the back for added grip. This is a very, very small phone and there are some advantages despite its size. It is very pocketable and easy to use with one hand.

Everything is reachable with your fingers. Volume rockers are on the left side, power button is on the right side and 3.5 mm headphone jack and micro USB port on the top. We do find the display fairly good but do not expect so much from its low res HVGA (320 x 480 pixels) resolution.

We will be taking this phone for a spin. We’ll install games that could run smoothly with its 1GHz dual core processor. Aside from that, the camera, battery and its connectivity. Full review will be out in a week!
