Google announced yesterday the first smartphones under the company’s Android One platform. During Google’s I/O event about two months ago, the company unveiled the next version of its mobile operating system called Android L. But the company also announced the Android One project which targets countries with booming ultra affordable smartphone market like India, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Android One is a project by Google to offer a decent Android experience to low end smartphone users. Google has tied up with Indian smartphone makers Micromax, Karbonn, and Spice to make the first batch of affordable but quality smartphones. Google is in charge of the development, choice of materials and of course, software. As a result, this will make the phone’s price really cheap.

Smartphones from Micromax, Karboon and Spice are rebranded and become Starmobile, MyPhone or Cherry Mobile when it reaches the country. We are pretty sure, same thing will happen when Android One smartphone will be available here.

Here are the first smartphones under Android One platform
