HARDWARE AND DESIGN:

The Starmobile Engage 9i is made up of glass, front and back. We personally love the overall design due to its glass front and back casing. It does make the tablet premium looking.  The problem, however, the glass chassis is not scratch resistant. It also made the tablet quite heavy too.

DISPLAY:

There are a lot of low resolution tablets out there so its a good move for the local manufacturer to put an HD display on this tablet. It has a WUXGA resolution (1920 x 1200 pixels) which is considered HD. Watching HD movies is such a joy! Playing games is  a delightful experience too. Viewing angles are great and colors are accurate. If you will use your tablet mainly for multimedia consumption, this tablet is your best pick.

PERFORMANCE:

What can you expect from an Intel processor in an Android tablet? No lags were encountered during our duration of the review. Of course we did download our favorite game, Dead Trigger 2. Although it may take some time before the game loads, the tablet managed run the game smoothly. On Antutu Benchmarks, the tablet scored 19,963 points

CONNECTIVITY:

Unfortunately, the Starmobile Engage 9i does not come with 3G capabilities. WiFi connection is good though.

BATTERY:

The tablet comes with a non-removable 6,500 mAh battery. A larger battery means longer battery life and that’s true with this tablet. On our heavy gaming and multimedia use, the battery lasted 10 hours with an amazing 30% remaining power. You can even stretch it until  2 days with moderate use.

VERDICT:

We must agree with our colleagues who already reviewed the Starmobile Engage 9i. It is one of the best local tablet that you can buy. But there are thin and light Android tablets that selling at lower prices. Some may shift their attention with these tablets. But if you want a tablet with gorgeous display, smooth performer and long battery life, then add this tablet to your shopping list.
