HARDWARE AND DESIGN:

When it comes to design, we give this round to the Gionee ELife E7, The ELife E7 has a unibody design made of high grade polycarbonate. Although the Oppo Find 7a is also a solid device, the ELife E7 has color options. Both phones are light, thin and manageable to hold.

Winner: Gionee ELife E7

DISPLAY:

Both phones sports a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD display. You will never go wrong with them when it comes to screen quality as both displays are stunning, has accurate colors and cooler tones. However, if you want to level up the quality of your display, just shell out a few bucks and get the Oppo Find 7. This phone has a Quad HD (QHD) display, it far better than a Full HD display.

Winner: Both

PERFORMANCE AND SOFTWARE:

We only had a few minutes on both phones during their separate launch events so we were not able to test them fully. But we can still compare them because they have different custom UI. The Gionee ELife E7 has Amigo 2.0 on top of Android 4.2 Jellybean while the Oppo Find 7a has ColorOS on top of Android 4.3 Jellybean. The Oppo flagship has the advantage here as it runs a more later version of Android than Gionee’s flagship.

On our experience with both phones, we think that the ColorOS has a cleaner look than its counterpart. The Amigo UI does not have any app tray just like those found on Huawei’s smartphones and the iPhone itself. All icons are placed on the home screen which may confuse some if you are a hardcore Android user. If you are coming from an iPhone, you’ll love the Amigo UI.

Winner: Oppo Find 7a

CAMERA:

We have not tested the camera on both phones due to our limited hands on time with them. But taking a look at their specs, the Gionne flagship has a better 16 megapixel rear camera compared with Oppo’s 13 megapixel rear shooter. Gionee’s front camera has an edge too with its 8 megapixel camera compared to Oppo’s 5 megapixel camera.

Winner: Gionee ELife E7

BATTERY:

Oppo claims to have better battery performance with its fast charging feature. The phone can make a 2 hour call from a 5-minute charging time. It can also get 75% charge for only 30 minutes. With these features, Oppo outperformed Gionee on this round.

Winner: Oppo Find 7a.
