Hashtags work quite differently on Facebook because of the degree of privacy restrictions by users. When clicking hashtags, you will only see Facebook comments or FB status that you are authorized to see. If you make a hashtag comment on Facebook that is filtered for “Friends only”, only your friends will see it.

Facebook will also introduce #hashtags on smartphone and tablet apps as well soon. For now, only users accessing via web browsers can view hashtags.
